My former coworker was kind enough to let us spend the day with them in their tiny brewing space, while they cooked up some IPA. The photo above shows Chris stirring a huge pot of what looks like oatmeal, which extracts the sugars from the grain. What is left over is called spent grain, which they donate to local farmers to feed their pigs, a local soap lady, and in the near future maybe converting the spent grain into dog treats.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_63\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-63\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/seattlecentralnewmedia.com\/chevalier\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2014\/11\/IMG_5739-copy-e1415821911626.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-63\" src=\"http:\/\/seattlecentralnewmedia.com\/chevalier\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2014\/11\/IMG_5739-copy-e1415821911626.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5739 copy\" width=\"400\" height=\"533\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-63\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This is a sprinkler system set in place to cool down the mixture in order to get it to the perfect temperature.
