Logo Design is tough.

For the first several weeks, my husband and I have been discussing a lot about what our business values and what we want this business to represent. Now that the brand concept is a little more refined and I have a general look and feel, I decided to venture into logo land.

What I have so far is meager. On a couple different occasions I sat down, sketched, and tried to transfer my ideas into illustrator. Time and time again I felt as if I was coming up short.

I’ve been realizing lately that part of the creative process is to be able to take a step back and walk away when the creative juices aren’t flowing. How does that balance out when you have to work on a deadline? When do you sacrifice quality for a result?

Taking a step back, I realized I was lacking in the appropriate visual inspiration. I keep scouring through the internet, and although there is an infinite amount of visuals, it doesn’t feel right. This weekend I am going to spend some time at the Seattle Public Library looking for old logos, fisheries, and imagery that seems more in line with the look and feel that I am envisioning.

Hopefully inspiration will come.
